Onboarding FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the Kickbite onboarding process — markets, currencies, timelines, tracking, and common issues.

Markets & Configuration

What if I don't know which shipping countries to assign to each market?

Start with the obvious ones. The default market catches everything that isn't explicitly assigned, so you won't lose any data. You can adjust later, though this triggers data reprocessing.

Can I change my market setup after onboarding?

Yes, but changing market definitions requires full session reprocessing, which can take hours to days depending on your data volume. It's best to get it right the first time. Talk to your CS Manager if you're unsure.

What happens if I select the wrong currency?

Kickbite converts your backend revenue to the selected currency using daily Forex rates. If the currency selection is wrong, the revenue numbers in your dashboard will be off. This can be corrected but requires reprocessing.

Do I need separate markets for each country?

Not necessarily. You can group countries into regions (e.g., DACH = DE + AT + CH). The right granularity depends on whether you run different marketing strategies per country or per region. Your CS Manager can help you decide.

Tracking & Templates

When will I see data in my dashboard?

After tracking is live and your backend is connected, allow at least 2 weeks for meaningful attribution data to appear. The AI model needs time to train on your customer journeys.

Do tracking templates affect my ad performance?

It depends on the platform:

  • Google Ads & Microsoft Ads: Campaign-level templates. No ad review, no learning phase restart.

  • Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat: Ad-level parameters. These trigger a new ad review and restart the learning phase. We recommend making changes during low-traffic hours.

What if I already have UTM parameters on my ads?

No problem — Kickbite's tracking parameters are appended to your existing setup. They don't replace your current UTMs.

Access & Invitations

Can I invite someone else to complete part of the onboarding?

Yes! You can invite team members (e.g., a developer for the tracking pixel) directly from the onboarding wizard. They'll receive an email invitation valid for 4 weeks.

My invitation link expired. What do I do?

Invitation links are valid for 4 weeks and are single-use. If yours expired, contact your Customer Success Manager — they can send a new one.

I can't see the dashboard, only the onboarding steps. Is this normal?

Yes. During onboarding, you're logged in as a Guest user who can only see the onboarding wizard. Once onboarding is complete, your CS Manager will upgrade your access so you can see the full attribution dashboard.

Wizard Steps

Why are some steps locked?

The marketing steps (Channel Mix, Tracking Templates, Marketing Accounts) are locked until the prerequisite steps are completed. Specifically: Channel Mix unlocks when Account Details and Connect Backend are both done. Tracking Templates and Marketing Accounts unlock when Channel Mix is done.

I made a mistake in an earlier step. Can I go back?

Yes, you can go back and change settings in previous steps before final confirmation. If changes are needed after onboarding is complete, contact your CS Manager — some changes require data reprocessing.
